Alison Wearing (born 1967) is a Canadian writer and performer. She is the author of the internationally bestselling travel memoir, Honeymoon in Purdah, her account of a trip to Iran, and a one-woman performance piece, Giving Into Light, in which she combines literary chronicles with music, dance and theatre. The award-winning play has been performed in literary and theatre festivals across Canada.
Wearing's writing has been awarded a National Magazine Award Gold Medal, a Western Canada Magazine Award 1st Prize, has been nominated for the Journey Prize, and has appeared in numerous publications and anthologies. She performs in literary, musical and theatrical events and festivals throughout North America. She lives in Mexico.
